Item #1 From My Medicine Bag

This has been one of my favorite objects for almost all of my life. The Indians called it a Wishing Stone. You should keep it close to you at all times and when you really wanted something the stone was supposed to "know". Rubbing it three times, turning it over three times, then telling the stone your wish would do the trick. The reason I have loved it so much for so long is that, for me, It really worked. Every time (which really was not that often) I used it my wish would come true quickly. I find this stone very intriguing....
Oddly enough, my oldest best friend gave me this stone. She got her mother to buy it for her when they went on a camping trip deep in the Shenandoah Valley, and she brought it home and gave it to me. She told me exactly how it was to be used, and giving it away or losing it was very bad luck. I asked her if she had gotten one for herself, and she told me no, they only work as gifts. I guess I should have tried my best to find one for her! I will always love and support her but right now, her life is a mess. This stone is one of the objects safely contained in my Medicine Bag. Happy Blogging everyone, Have another wonderful weekend!

What a wonderful gift to give a child. Isn't it a shame she didn't do the same for her daughter. I hope you eventually pass it to Ry. You must have wished for him, cause that little boy is a dream come true.

Very cool, Katie. Maybe your friend could use a wish from you off the stone for better times in her life.
